Statement of the World Federation of Democratic Youth in solidarity with the Communist Yugoslav Youth (SKOJ) and comrade Aleksandar Djenic.
It is with the necessary seriousness that the World Federation of Democratic Youth received the news of the recent direct physical attacks by the neo-fascist. The said aggressive attacks took place during the last month against the members of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) and the League of Communist Yugoslav Youth (SKOJ) which is a member organization of WFDY.
The most recent attack by the neo-fascist happened in Belgrade and Novi Sad just few days ago, and it was against several activists of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) and the League of Communist Yugoslav Youth (SKOJ). More specifically the target of the attacks was the comrade Aleksandar Djenic where he was the first Secretary of the League of Communist Yugoslav Youth (SKOJ), and is now a member of the Secretariat of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ). However, in his trial to auto – defense unfortunately we are informed that he was arrested by the police. As a matter of importance this is not the first time that Aleksandar Djenic targeted by the neo-fascist organizations. In contrast with the reality of the events, comrade Aleksandar Djenic was charged for a criminal offense.
The World Federation of Democratic Youth express its solidarity to SKOJ and to the comrade Aleksandar Djenic, and it also supports NKPJ and SKOJ on their demand for the dismissal of the charges against comrade Aleksandar Djenic.
The World Federation of Democratic Youth condemns all the aggressive attacks of clerical ultra right-wingers against NKPJ and SKOJ members, and understands that the attacks have to do with ideological and political beliefs. It is really very alarming the fact that the neo-fascists are spreading in various countries of Europe, and WFDY as a Democratic Federation will continue condemning such attacks on the same time that is calling for international solidarity with the people of countries facing the aggressive actions of neo-fascists organizations.
