Statement on the 11th Congress of the General Union of Palestinian Students
The Young Communist League congratulates the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS) on the historic occasion of its 11th National Congress held in Beirut, Lebanon from 29 July to 1 August, the first to be held since the National Congress held in Baghdad, Iraq in 1990, and is honoured to have been invited and to have attended as a guest to this important event.
Nakba Day 2026
In its commemoration of Nakba Day in 2026, the Young Communist League of Britain extends its admiration for the continuing sumud of the Palestinian people and condemns the Israeli ethnic cleansing of Palestine since 1947 and the ongoing genocide in Gaza lasting over two and a half years.
YCL Stands with the Palestinian Prisoners and Against the Israeli Noose
The YCL calls for the release of all Palestinians unjustly detained by Israeli forces, who suffer daily under a systematic regime of torture, starvation, medical neglect and
sexual violence, as well as for the British government to sever the country’s alliance with the genocidal apartheid state of Israel and the establishment of an independent state of Palestine in practice.
General Secretary’s New Year’s Address 2026
As we embark upon a new year, we must reflect on our previous year and our current circumstances in order to continue building the class struggle amongst youth in Britain. We do so not in naive celebration but from a realistic assessment of our material conditions and prospects.

International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People 2025
On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Young Communist League expresses its solidarity with and extends its fullest fraternal greetings to the Palestinian Democratic Youth Union, its parent party the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, all of its organisations from the exterior, to the occupations jails, the West Bank and to the Gaza Strip where party cadres continue to resist by all appropriate and legal means, including the Martyr Omar Al-Qasim Forces of the National Resistance Brigades.
