On this day in 1945 fascism in Europe was smashed 🎉🎉🕊️🕊️ Allied armies of Britain, the Soviet Union, France, the USA and others finally defeated Nazi fascism. It is a proud anti fascist chapter in the history of Britain’s working class. Like Communist parties across occupied Europe who led and organised resistance movements, Britain’s Communists also played a crucial role. From the underground resistance in occupied Jersey, forcing open the London Underground as a bomb shelter during the Blitz and leading the calls for a second front in Europe.

The Young Communist League of Britain sends greetings to the working people of Britain and the world on May Day 2019! ✊🌍🚩 ➡️➡️➡️ For well over a century International Workers’ Day has been celebrated across the planet by workers and the revolutionary youth. It is a time celebrate the proud history of the international working class and communist movement and everything it has achieved. It is also a time to reflect on the failures of the movement, to ensure they are never repeated in the future. We remember those have given their all in the fight for socialism and for peace. Most importantly it is a time to steel ourselves for the struggles ahead. On this day in 1975 #Saigon was liberated from the #US puppet dictatorship of South #Vietnam, ending the war which had lasted for almost 20 years. The struggle of the Vietnamese people against imperialism captured the world’s imagination. The atrocities committed by the #USA exposed the evil reality of imperialism. The victory of the Vietnamese people show us that the people can overcome any odds when they are united in the struggle for socialism. Imperialism is never invincible. Despite the horrors of that war Vietnam is today one of the most populous countries in the world and one of the fastest growing economies. 🇻🇳🌏✊ Long live Hồ Chí Minh! Long Live the Socialist Republic of Vietnam! Long live the Vietnamese people!
